fxT_precompController v1.3
fxT_precompController is a Toolset/python tool to easily keep track of precomps in large nuke scripts. It comes with a custom switch and a global controller to contol all precompSwitches in a nuke-scipt.
The fxT_precompContoller is a global controller which will find all the fxT_precompSwitches in your nodeGraph so you can control all the switches from one location.
The tool has built in checks for existing precomp, existing node and many other features. No auto update, you have to press the update button - this to keep your nuke-script efficient.
For demonstration of all the feature and how to use it; please take a look at the video demo of the tool here:
https://vimeo.com/fxtor/precompdemo
PS: Listed support for v10+ (though its a pure NoOp python tool, so it should work with all version of Nuke)
Not yet tested on 13, should work, if it doens't, please feel free to give feedback and I'll look into it.
Enjoy!
ChangeLog:
v1.3: Updated with a accompanying python file so all the fxT_precompSwitches reads the code from a central place in stead of having duplicate code around in many precompSwitch nodes. So for this to work you need to install the python file in your .nuke directory. Not to worry, if someone else opens the nuke script and don't have this installed, they wont get any error, the only thing that will happen is that the buttons in the tool wont do anything. So for maximum comatability in a studio enviornment, I suggest installing it site-wide.
Overhauled the precomp controller so it updates the precompSwitches on update, this ensures the correct precomp-names are displayed if for example someone rewired the pipes in a switch in stead of using the buttons.
Now the toolset for the precomp comes with a precompSetup with a backdrop. This backdrop will change color to dark red or dark green based on if precomp or comp pipe is being used - so its even easier to quickly understand what is being used in the comp tree without opening or zooming into any of the nodes.
v1.2: Local OnCreateCallback to open the node and set focus on the controls tab. (Only happens on the first time you create the toolSet, and is ignored otherwise) Simply make it act as a regular nuke node that opens the properties panel once you make the toolSet without having to install it as a gizmo.
Comments
I have a problem when I press 'use preComp' or 'use Comp'.
There will change the other backdrop's color,it's a bad change.
Can you replace it?
